I have also disassembled, cleaned, and tested the battery pack. AA Batteries are not included but the Nintendo DMG-03 external battery pack is. The unit has been tested both with batteries and an external power adapter to ensure both power the unit with no issues. The backlight allows for playing your Gameboy in any light conditions and the bi-vert mod dramatically improves the contrast for a much clearer picture. In addition to the refurbishment, I have also installed the backlight mod kit for the screen and the 'Bi-vert' mod. The unit has been completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, and extensively tested to ensure it is in the best shape possible. The unit is in excellent condition with only minor cosmetic flaws, NO discoloration. Here we have an original Nintendo Gameboy DMG-01.
